Koh Tao Location

Koh Tao is Thailands 20th biggest island
and measures approximately 21 square kilometres
and is inhabited by around 650 fulltime residents.
Seen from the side, Koh Tao appears to be quite mountainous
and is therefore blessed with always having a quiet side
even when the weather is at its worst.
KohTao was originally Thailands Alcatraz,
since it was used as a means of isolating criminals
from Koh Samui and the mainland.

Turtle Island is a word for word translation of Koh Tao.
The name obviously refers to the many sea turtles
inhabiting the surrounding seas.
