Scuba diving became one of my favorite things to do
since I went to Koh Tao island in Thailand and took two scuba diving licenses.
This is part of my journal.
Day 1,Aug.20: flew from Bankok to Samui airport. Transfered to Nathon port from Saumi island.
Took an express boat from Ko Samui to Ko Tao island. It took me three hours to get to Ko Tao.
The people from Ban's dive shop came to pick me up.
I could reach the Ban's dive shop successfully.
I was given assignments and took a class on the night.
Expenses: Air ticket from Bankok to Ko Samui 3180Bz=$100US=9540yen,
Ban from Samui-Nathon 120Bz=$32US=360yen,
express boat from Kosamui to Ko Tao 345Bz=$11US=1335yen

Day 2,Aug.21:I woke up at 7:30am. At 8:30am, took a confined water lesson in the swimming pool. Learned how to put the mask when it's taken off, how to float by using neutral buoyancy. Ate lunch and swam in the ocean without air bottle in the afternoon. I watched video 1-3 chapters. Then, after self studying, I took a lecture for chapter 2 and 3. I was exhasted after those.
Expenses:Open Water course including 4 days hotel fee 7800BZz=$210US , massage 200Bz=$5US(one hour) It was more expensive than Bankok compared to 140Bz=$3.80US.. because it's an isolated island.

Day 3, Aug.22:Woke up at 9am. Watched the video, chapter 4 and 5. First dive in the Ocean!!! I dived twice at the dive site,Twins,and White Rock. I learned how to write a log book. My log book I could see many tropical fish!!

Day4, Aug.23:Woke up at 8am, ate breakfast "Fruit Rice Pudding" It was like oatmeal with pinapple,strawberry etc. It was very delicious and filling. Took a lecture about chapter 4 and 5. Asked about advanced open water course because I was really enjoying and wanted to learn more. At 1pm, Went to dive at Twins and White Rock. After I came back, my instructor, Yuka and many other people went out to eat dinner at the nice restaurant.
Expenses: breakfast 60Bz=$1.50US, Lunch 65Bz=$2US, dinner 115Bz=$3US, a bottle of water 10Bz=20cents |
| Day5, Aug.24:Woke up at 8am. At 10am, I took an exam to graduate open water course. I passed it!! Then, I could go on to the Advanced Open Water Course. At 1pm,my buddy,Chie and I started advanced open water. The first dive was "Navigation" dive. The second one was "Underwater Naturalist" dive. I was required to draw five fish, two mollusk, and two plants. Then, I learned the name of those animals and plants. At 6pm, we went to "Night Dive" We saw a shrimp, an octopus, and a crab and ocean fireflies. I was exhausted again,,but, after I slept a little bit, I woke up at 1:40am and did assignments for the next day class. It was busy even though it was my vacation.

Day6, Aug.25: It was the last day. Took two classes in the morning. At 1pm, Dived twice. I could finish my advanced open water courses. On that night, I took a boat to go to Malaysia.|
